Technical sponge sheets with closed cell structure, water and air impermeable. EPDM foam for external environment and sealing; EVA foam for shock absorption, orthopaedics and in-pack protection. With or without tape options.
“Sponge” is a general term in the industry, but it is critical to choose the right raw material according to the place of use. As Batı Conta, we have two main technical sponge groups in our stocks:
EPDM Sponge Sheets:
Rubber based. Just like EPDM gaskets, it shows excellent resistance to sun, ozone, rain and outdoor weather conditions.
It is very soft, easily crushed and fills the gaps. Does not absorb water thanks to its closed cell structure.
It is generally used in panel covers, automotive door seals and exterior insulation.
EVA (Ethyl Vinyl Acetate) Sheets:
It is plastic based and has a harder and more rigid structure than EPDM.
Impact damping feature is very high.
It is generally used as in-box packaging (product housing), sports equipment, shoe soles and floor mats.
🚫 Closed Cell: Both materials are water, moisture and airtight despite their spongy structure.
🔊 Sound and Heat Insulation: It absorbs vibration, cuts sound and reduces heat transfer.
🛡️ EPDM Advantage (Agelessness): EPDM sponges do not crumble even if they remain under the sun for years, they maintain their flexibility (Ideal as window tape).
📦 EVA Advantage (Protection): EVA sponges absorb shock impacts and provide excellent protection when transporting sensitive products (electronics, etc.).
✂️ Easy Processing: It can be easily cut with laser, water jet or utility knife.
Automotive and Construction: Door and window sealing seals (EPDM).
Electrical Panels: Cover gasket (against dust and moisture – EPDM).
Packaging: Sponges (EVA) in specially cut boxes.
Promotion and Hobby: Key rings, model making, play mats (coloured EVA).
Footwear and Orthopaedics: Insoles and support material (EVA).
