Sealing element with vulcanised steel ring (insert) inside and coated with high strength EPDM rubber outside. It prevents blow-out of the gasket in high pressure lines and provides superior resistance to ozone, hot water and chemicals with its EPDM structure.
This product group, also known as “Steel Core” or “Non-Explosion Gasket” in industrial installations, combines the flexibility of elastomer and the durability of metal in a single body.
While standard rubber gaskets can stretch under high pressure and slip between the flange; EPDM Steel Reinforced Elastomer Gaskets maintain their form thanks to the steel ring in the centre. EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) rubber, which is vulcanised on the steel core during the production phase, gives the gasket not only mechanical strength but also excellent resistance to outdoor conditions, UV rays, acids and hot water.
These products, offered with Batı Gasket quality, are preferred especially for plastic (PE/PP) and GRP flanges as they provide full sealing with low tightening torque.
🛡️ Hybrid Structure (Steel + EPDM): The strength of steel combined with the ageing and chemical resistance of EPDM.
Blow-Out Protection: In sudden pressure increases and ram impacts, the gasket does not blow out.
☀️ Superior EPDM Resistance: It is much longer lasting than standard tyres against ozone, sunlight, sea water, hot water and steam.
🔧 Low Bolt Torque: Thanks to its hard structure, it adheres to the surface without the need for excessive tightening and does not deform the flange surface.
📐 Self-Centering: Thanks to its special cross-sectional structure, it automatically centres itself by attaching to the bolts during assembly.
Drinking water and treatment plants (EPDM has high food and water compatibility).
Sea water cooling lines and ship industry.
Chemical process lines (resistance to acids and bases).
Fire hydrant lines and sprinkler systems.
PE, PP and GRP pipe flange connections.
